Following the lead of capt. Cook in his Earthquake thread, I googled (as one savvy reader suggested for me to find Raven Space!)grateful dead barbed wire whipping party and a second later several entries appear. Gotsta love the web! Found some interesting stuff. There is a 6/1/88 recording on archive (stream only of course) that was a tape supposedly left in their hotel room prior to the Oxford, Me. shows on 7/2 and 3/88. Stream that song and tell WTF is going on. I'll have to listen to the rest this long weekend. Google also mentions the 12/31/69 Aoxamoaxa (spelling?) outtakes whre the tune is also streamable. There is also another (two actually) shows/ recordings listed for the same day, on of which is a "home" recording that looks very interesting and is an aud recording (probably odd as well)in addition to the actual NYE show which looks like some classic 69 material. These have been some fun threads with Raven and Earthquake Spaces, but that Barbed Wire take the cake for spooky.Have a wonderful long weekend. College football starts big time this weekend- love the fact thats theres always a late game starting around 10:30 pm central that is being broadcast from mountain or pacific time. Football all day and night. Yay.

Here's a weird oddity in the spooky Aoxomoxoa vein,

What's Become Of The Baby, played karaoke style in a live/tape mix on one strange eve at the Avalon...

I dl'd it somewhere (sugarmeg?) a litttle while back, so it's OUT there!

Wow! I remember (when I was first getting into the Dead) going to a used book and record store. Way down in a dark cob-webby space, they had some tapes. I don't think I had been to a single show and I think it might have been the very first leg that I bought. Well, I thumbed through few tapes that were in the box and tried to find the oldest tape. So I bought it.

It was the hippiest, trippiest thing I had ever heard! I kept thinking two things:

I'm going to go take another listen, thanks to the folks here at!
